The Pen
The barrel is crafted from dark red translucent precious resin and shifts gradually from a round profile at the cap to a square form at its end, echoing the change at the heart of The Metamorphosis. The cap top, clip and rings are in 925 sterling silver, and the cap carries Kafka's signature. The rhodium-plated 18K gold nib is finely engraved with an insect, a reference to the novella's central figure.

The Story
This Writers Edition honours Franz Kafka (1883–1924), the Prague-born author of The Metamorphosis, The Trial and The Castle, whose unsettling vision gave the modern world the word "Kafkaesque".
