Released in 2004 as part of Montblanc's Donation Pen series, this Special Edition — based on the classic Meisterstück 145 — honours Frédéric François Chopin (1810–1849), the Polish composer and virtuoso pianist widely regarded as one of the great masters of the Romantic era. Recognised as a child prodigy in his native Warsaw, Chopin dedicated himself exclusively to the piano, raising its expressive qualities to an entirely new level. His pioneering mastery of harmony, rhythm and melody continues to captivate audiences and challenge the world's finest pianists to this day.
The cap and barrel are crafted from black precious resin with gold-plated fittings and three gold cap rings, with the Montblanc snowcap emblem crowning the cap. Chopin's signature is engraved on the cap ring alongside the Montblanc lettering. The handcrafted 14K gold nib, marked 4810, is finished in gold and platinum. The special presentation box includes a CD featuring works of Frédéric Chopin performed by the Philharmonia of the Nations. A rare and collectible tribute to one of history's greatest composers. Sold out worldwide.
