Released in 2000 as part of Montblanc's distinguished Donation Pen series, this Special Edition honours Yehudi Menuhin (1916–1999), widely regarded as one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century. Born in the United States to Russian Jewish parents, Menuhin spent much of his career in the United Kingdom and became a citizen of both Switzerland and Britain. Through his music he inspired people all over the world with the spirit of joy, hope and international understanding — a legacy Montblanc sought to preserve with this deeply personal tribute, released the year following his passing.
The pen is crafted in black precious resin, characterised by a beautifully shaped clip in the form of a violin neck — a direct tribute to Menuhin's instrument — and a wide cap band on which his signature is engraved. The barrel ring is inscribed with "Montblanc – Philharmonic of the Nations." The rhodium-plated 18K gold nib is delicately engraved with a dove, a symbol of the peace and international harmony that defined Menuhin's life beyond music. The presentation box includes a CD of the artist's most celebrated performances.
A rare and deeply moving collector's piece, sold out worldwide.
